Founded
in 2003, Greater Worcester Opera
(formerly known as Worcester Opera Works) is a non-profit 501(c)3
organization whose two-fold mission includes opera performance
and education. The company produces mainstage opera and
concerts, as well as touring opera for students. GWO strives to
provide high quality, entertaining operatic productions to the
audiences of Central MA, while at the same time providing
valuable performing opportunities to the area's wealth of local,
professionally-trained singers .
Greater Worcester Opera's
current student performance is an original opera entitled
Diamonds and Toads,
with a
libretto by Elaine
Crane and music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. GWO also hosts "Aria Sing" in Worcester, a time and
place for local singers to perform new repertoire, prepare for
auditions and network with other singers. Please visit
